Privacy and data protection
Privacy Policy
A clear overview of what FriendBets stores, why it is needed, and how you can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.
1General Information and Mandatory Disclosures
The protection of your personal data is a key concern for us. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations, in particular the GDPR, and this Privacy Policy.
When you use this website or our mobile apps, various personal data are collected. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, what we use them for, and how this is done.
2Data Controller
The party responsible for data processing on this website and the mobile applications is:
Email: info@friend-bets.de
Website: friend-bets.de
3Data Collection on the App and Server
Registration and Profile
When creating an account in FriendBets, we store your email address, a freely chosen username, your display name, email verification status, account timestamps, and a cryptographically encrypted password hash. These data are processed solely to provide the service, authenticate you, protect your account, and support account-related email flows such as verification, password reset, email change, and username reminders.
Bets, Friends, Tips, and Activity
When you use FriendBets, we store the content needed to run the app: bets, sub-bets, bet rules, stake descriptions, options, participants, friendships, friend requests, tips, submitted results, winners, settlement confirmations, change requests, votes, and inbox items. These records are needed so your groups can create bets, vote on changes, track activity, and keep settlement history understandable.
Push Notifications
To keep you updated on changes to your bets, invitations, and voting processes, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging as a push notification service. For this purpose, we store device tokens together with your user account, device type, locale, and registration time. Device tokens can be removed by logging out, disabling notifications, or when Firebase reports them as invalid.
Server Logs
Our web server logs protocol data on every access to ensure secure system operation and troubleshooting. These logs can include request identifiers, access timestamps, requested paths, HTTP methods, HTTP status codes, request duration, and technical connection data such as IP addresses. Logs are stored only for as long as necessary for operation and security.
4Your Rights
Under the applicable legal regulations, you have the right to request free information at any time about your stored personal data, their origin and recipients, and the purpose of the data processing, as well as a right to correct or delete these data.
Upon deletion, your email address and username are completely anonymized and your display name is set to "Deleted User". Bets, tips, and votes remain in the database so that balances and historical logs for remaining group members stay intact, but these records are no longer linked to any identifiable person.
5Data Security and Hosting
Our services are operated securely via HTTPS on servers managed by us and deployed via the Coolify hosting tool. Hosting and transactional email delivery are provided through Netcup. We currently do not create separate database backups. We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or unauthorized access.
